What lies beneath

On holiday …  my daily ritual was …  once hubby and I had ‘set up’ our beach spot … to wander slowly along shoreline on my own.   Not many people on the beach at that time, and in fact, as I’ve mentioned before, there were not many holidaymakers anyway.  I chose my time well.  No little kiddies yet!!    Not that I like little kiddies, I love watching them play, but they tend to disturb nature and small creatures/fish slightly!

A quiet time …  except for the sound of the sea … walking in the sand and lapping waves, stopping at rock pools.  Rocks with clinging life of different shapes, sizes and colours.   Puddles and pools filled with crystal clear water sometimes rippling, sometimes still.   Little fish dart here and there.   Crabs sunning themselves, dashing for cover when I get too close.

Low tide is the perfect time to see what lies beneath … not too far beneath … but just enough to marvel at the wonders of the ocean shoreline …

Captivating !!
