Lake Maggiore : Isola Bella’s Italianate garden

Still on Day 9 :   continued from my previous post ..

From the magnificent Palazzo, a flight of steps lined with moss covered pots and ferns peeping through cracks,  lead up to the ten tiered Italianate garden in the form of a pyramid with a statue of a Unicorn ridden by Eros at the top.

Please join hubby and I while we take a wander (bright sunlight not conducive to the best garden pics)  …

IMG_6876 I wasn’t the only one fascinated by these beautiful birds ..  the pièce de résistance would have been his glistening white fantail, but it was not to be 😦

  1. Mrs FF says:

    Beautiful!

White peacocks! Hmmm, learnt something new today. I could have sworn all peacocks were multicoloured.

  2. Just imagine having a garden and garden feature like that. The backdrop of water and mountains make it even more beautiful
