Biarritz, Pyrénées

Still on Day 6 of our Trafalgar Tour – ‘best of France’ – fabulous so far.. far more to come!!

Biarritz – on the Atlantic Coast, a popular seaside resort with the best surfing in Europe.  In the mid-19th century Napoléon III and his Spanish-born wife, Eugénie were regular visitors ..

Hotel du Palais .. a five star hotel.. we were all hoping our overnight stay was here  !!  Alas, the bus didn’t turn into the gate  😦

I spotted this young lady tucking into her chip-filled baguette !!   Wonder what else was in there .. ? !!

I went down to the sandy cove to put my toes in the sand and feet in the Atlantic Ocean to take a few pics  ..

Hubby and I sat on a bench eating original macarons and nut choccies from Maison Adam, according to Mark, the best chocolate shop in the region !!  Our verdict .. mm mm yummy !!  🙂

We then treated ourselves to a drink at a beach café before catching the bus again to our night’s-stop-hotel.  Couldn’t believe how many people were still on the beach – I suppose they make the most of the late sunsets and warm days …

Onto our hotel – Novotel Anglet Aeroport – for another relaxing drink with our companions before dinner .. at the swimming pool

Beautiful deep colours of the hydrangeas ..

.. and a row of gorgeous roses ..

After dinner .. coffee and bed .. early wake up call the following morning for Day 7 .. La Rhune, St Jean-de-Luz and our next sleep-over .. 2 nights in Bordeaux

  1. Another beautiful place and a stunning coastal town. From the looks of it very popular as well.
