Driving through Cannes, Côte d’Azur

Up bright and early the next morning, after our last night-stop in Nice, we had a non-stop bus tour along the Boulevard de la Croisette of Cannes, ‘land of film festivals, movie stars, the rich and the famous’  !!!

Our bus driver, Marc, with his mascot above him !!

Squeezing through the narrow streets to get to the Boulevard ..

We all got excited when we saw a red carpet !!!    Alas .. not the famous Film Festival place

This is it .. the Grand Auditorium where all the Cannes Film Festivals are held – unfortunately there were reconstruction barriers in front of part of the building ..

Note .. SAND …  not pebbles !!

Statue of Joan of Arc ..

Sculptures adorn many of the traffic circles ..

It’s not only blurred but has plenty of reflection from the bus window but I love this one .. V for Victory, commemorating the end of WWII .. (the French flag was on the other side of the circle)

Onto the open road again ..

Alaric Mountain (I think! )  ..

Onward to Arles for a walk-about and then our next stop-over at the medieval walled city of Carcassone with it’s double ramparts and 53 towers !!

  1. There seems to be a lot of wealth on the French coast. Love that last pic of the tunnel.
