A girl and an elephant

The Elephant Sanctuary is an amazing place!  It’s situated at The Crags near Plettenberg Bay and is a sanctuary for abused elephants.  There are six elephants – we walked ‘trunk-in-hand’ with three of them.  I will do another post with our experience of learning about and walking with these amazing animals but this is just a ‘quickie’ post of this little girl who was too scared to walk ‘trunk-in-hand’ but was encouraged by her dad to feed them.   We had to be quick with photos as these three were hungry !!!

“All gone ” !!! …

And when the bowl is turned upside down, they know their titbits are finished …

.. and they go and have drink of water

I have never been to the Elephant Sancuary at Plett, but have been to the Knysna Elephant Park and Addo Elephant Back Safaris who both do the same kind of thing. It is the most amazing feeling being able to interact with these giant animals.
